Interstate 215 portion closed today to find cause of concrete collapse

A chunk of concrete that fell from an Interstate 215 overpass Aug. 31 in Riverside will tie up traffic again Tuesday. Caltrans still does not know why the 3-by-2-foot section plummeted onto Chicago Avenue from the overpass, just east of the 60/91/215 interchange, officials said. Crews will take samples of the concrete where it gave way so they can learn more, Caltrans spokesman Jason Goldman said.
